do I access Base Psychology?
Most referrals will come directly via your ACC Case
Manager if you have an accepted ACC claim. If your injury
is not covered by ACC and you would like to refer yourself
privately then please contact Base Psychology directly
to dicuss your needs and the cost of input.
Can
I bring a support person?
Yes. You are more than welcome to have a family member
or friend to come with you to any meetings. It is often
very helpful to have an additional perspective on how
you have been doing since your injury.
How
long does an assessment take?
A Neuropyschological Assessment can take up to three
hours although your assesment may be split across two
sessions if this is too tiring.
A
Clinical Psychology Assessment takes between 60-90 minutes
with follow-up sessions being 45-60 minutes duration.
Do
I get a copy of reports written about me?
Yes, this be provided as soon as possible after your
assessment.
Who
has access to this information?
The person who referred you for the assessment recieves
a copy of the report as they are funding the assessment/treatment.
The report can also be provided to others with your
express permission.
